The 4th Annual Wind-Up is a 5v5 mixed HAT tournament — meaning you register as an individual and we place you on a team. Beginner-friendly by design, competitive by spirit.
Windmill-style pick-up tournament. Come solo, get placed on a balanced team, meet new people, and play pure Ultimate. No experience needed — just good vibes and a willingness to run.
Wind-Up helps fund Wits Ultimate's national tournaments. Every game you play helps the club travel and compete. Play hard. Help the club grow.
Wind-Up is a proud rebrand of the legendary Binnelanders tournament. Same roots. Same love for the disc. Bigger energy. Come be part of the story.
Score sheets will be provided to each team before games. After every game, both team captains must sign and submit the sheet to the info desk promptly.

A quick guide to the essentials. Full WFDF rules apply.
A rectangular field with two end zones. The disc is advanced into the defending end zone to score. Wind-Up plays on Bozzoli B Fields.
A point is scored when a player catches a pass in the opponent's end zone. After a score, teams switch directions and play to 7 (or time cap).
The player holding the disc (the "thrower") cannot run. They have a stall count of 10 seconds to throw — counted aloud by a marker.
Possession changes on incomplete passes (out of bounds, dropped, blocked, stalled). The opponent takes the disc where it lands.
Ultimate is self-refereed. Players are responsible for fair, respectful play. Spirit of the Game is the heart of Ultimate — call it clean, argue it respectfully.
Teams must have at least 2 players of each gender on the field at all times. This is a beginner-friendly HAT format — everyone gets game time.
Ultimate is a non-contact sport. Picks, screens, and deliberate contact are fouls. Call fouls calmly and resolve disputes with Spirit.
Each point starts with a "pull" — a kick-off throw from the defending team. All players must be at their end zone line until the pull is released.
